Which font formats do you provide?
→ All packages include PostScript flavoured OpenType Fonts (.otf) and WOFF2 (.woff2) for unlimited selfhosting – no additional costs or hidden fees! If Variable Fonts are available, they come in TrueType flavoured OpenType Fonts (.ttf) and WOFF2 (.woff2). If you need other formats, like TrueType OpenType Fonts, please let me know.

Which web fonts do you provide?

Do you offer Variable Fonts? How much do they cost?
→ Variable Fonts come with each family package without additional costs. Please have a look at the individual typeface page, if variable fonts are available.

Do you offer trial fonts?
→ Yes, I do (except FF Infra). nice to type trials come with a reduced character set in two formats: PostScript flavoured OpenType Fonts (.otf) and WOFF2 (.woff2) for web use. nice to type’s unique preglyphs are also included. Depending on the typeface, a few OpenType might be supported, such as alternate letter shapes or the randomize feature.

Which languages do you support?
→ nice to type fonts cover most Latin languages. Please have a detailed look at the individual typeface page, or the typeface specimen.

Is it correct that as a design studio I don’t need a licence for the typeface if I’m using it for a client?
→ Yes! The only exception is when the fonts are used for your studio’s own corporate design. If you’d like to support nice to type, you're of course welcome to purchase a licence, too.

Can I purchase licenses on behalf of my clients?
→ Yes, during the checkout process you can simply enter your client’s address as the licensee.

Do I have to delete the fonts after completing a client project?
→ No, you're welcome to keep the fonts on your computer. You can continue to test them for future projects. However, if the fonts are used in a new client’s project, that client will need to purchase a licence.

I’d like to upgrade the license because my company / my client’s company has grown. Do I need to purchase a new license?
→ No, a completely new purchase is not necessary. If you haven’t purchased the larger licence yet, please send me the invoice from the previous purchase and I will issue a coupon that deducts the previous amount. Please note that I cannot provide refunds retroactively.

What are your payment methods?
→ nice to type offers payments through Stripe (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) and PayPal (Bank transfer, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). Transactions with Stripe or PayPal are under the responsibility and the Terms & Conditions of the respective companies.

Are my transactions secured?
→ As electronic payment is done by Stripe or PayPal, please read their policy for any information about security of the financial transaction. I do not store your credit card information on my server.

What if your fonts don’t work on my computer?
→ If you get back to us during the first 30 days after obtaining the specified fonts, you get a 100% refund. Of course, I would like to solve your problem in first place, so don’t hesitate to contact me, if you have problems.

Your OpenType features don’t work.
→ Make sure you’re using an OpenType supporting application. Please have a look at the instruction manual of the application in regards to how to activate OpenType features.

I need a special character, which isn’t supported by your font. Can you make an update?
→ nice to type makes sure to cover all essential glyphs for everyday use. If a specific character is missing, all typefaces can be customised. Just get in touch.

I need non-Latin support.
→ I am always happy to build the best base for your communication. Please send me all information about the script, and I’ll see if I can help you.

Are you available for custom type design projects? How much does that cost?
→ Yes, I’m happy to work on fonts that are carefully refined and tailored to a client’s specific needs – see Custom Projects. The cost depends strongly on the desired design, character set, and number of styles or weights.
