Blow
Blow is a dynamic sans serif in five weights. Rooted in medieval style, Blow shifts from firm forms into smooth curves and waves. For each alphabet and figures, numerous alternates come in three steps, taking the idea of hard and soft forms with each step a bit further.
Characteristic
Blow ranges from graphical strengths to dynamic elegance. While the main stroke remains linear, the soft curves alternate with strong straight lines, merging into each other and forming the unique characteristics of Blow in all of its five weights. Letters like the lowercase ‘n’ unite both areas in the default characterset beforehand, while other forms emerge within their alternates: For example, the straight stems of the uppercase ‘A’ slightly curve inward, outward, just to transition into a streamlined form. Purposefully used, Blow allows the designer to have a lot of options to work with.
Unusually thin, almost fragile, diacritics lay over Blow’s letterbase. In contrast to all round and heavy forms, the diacritics help Blow to remain fresh. Nevertheless, through their wide width and precise shape, all diacritics remain strong and clearly visible.
OpenType Features
The key feature of Blow is the variety of alternates. You can easily select each alternate group through ‘stylistic set’ (01–03), or get the wildest typography with nice to types unique randomizer. Just activate ‘contextual alternates’ and have fun!
Of course Blow doesn’t lack of nice to types standard features like superior lowercase and figures, as well as tabular figures and tabular punctuation marks. You just have to make sure that your application or browser supports OpenType technology.
Blow’s energy doesn’t stop at its upper- and lowercase alternates: All alternate figures can be set in tabular layouts, too. So if your next business report needs a fresh breeze, you’re ready to go.
