Neue Sammlung
Neue Sammlung, a constructed uniwidth typeface in 6 weights with corresponding italics and ‘text’ styles for calmer settings. Additionally a stencil version for the maximum funofun in Thin – including Italics.
Characteristic
The family is built on geometric principles. Playful shapes – like the wavy N and S – softening the strict construction without losing the circular essence. 20 stylistic sets with multiple alternatives allow yourself to set the mood. Bauhaus to building set. The uniwidth carries you along.
Default vs Text
The Uniwidth setting is great for bold and conceptual appliances but it can also lead to a rougher spacing in thin cuts; at this point »Neue Sammlung Text« steps in. It provides a balanced appearance in its spacing but also by lifting the accents slightly from their lower position.
OpenType Features
Neue Sammlung provides a comprehensive library of stylistic alternatives: 19 sets for letters and one set for the numbers. You as a designer choose yourself what tone you want to set in – mix, match and personalise your own ‘new collection’. Nevertheless it is always possible to just run with the default version or switch singular letters to your preference.
Variable Font
The variable font combines both weight and italic axis (10°) in a single file. All glyphs are interchangeable between the default and text styles, which makes it very easy to use and allow for more options. The stencil variant includes the italic and text option as well, but please note that there is no direct switch between default and stencil.

Glyph Order and Preglyphs
All nice to type fonts provide a structured glyph order with special
preglyphs for a better overview – just choose ‘CID / GID’ instead of
‘Unicode’ in your Glyphs overview. To save webspace and loading time
webfonts don’t come with preglyphs.
